What is it?

Conscious Box is a monthly subscription service focusing on sustainability, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility. Each month, we curate boxes for our subscribers, filling them with the best businesses we can find, both small and large. And that’s where you come in.

Who’s behind it?

At this point, you may be wondering who are the people behind Conscious Box. Large corporations? A team of so-called “Eco-entrepreneurs” looking to capitalize on the green movement?

You’ll be pleased to hear otherwise.

Conscious Box was started by Jameson Morris, 23, Jesse Richardson, 21, and Bjorn Borstleman, 23—a group of young, passion-driven eco-advocates. The team didn’t start Conscious Box because of forces in the market place, large corporate sponsorship, or because they were bored. They started it because they saw a real problem in the environmental movement: too many businesses today label themselves as “green,” and average consumers have a hard time determining what that means.

With that problem in mind, Conscious Box has brought some of the smartest, most talented people on board and developed a tool to introduce the best of truly green businesses to subscribers. As the team noted in a recent interview, “At Conscious Box, we aim to help people discover businesses and those who are working hard to make a difference in the world. Each purchase is a vote, and we’d like to see that vote go toward small businesses doing their part in combating environmental and social ills… It can be hard to find ‘that business’—the one with the highest quality products and ethics—but we hope Conscious Box can make it easier.”

All in all, the team has less of a business relationship and more of friendship bound by social causes and inspiration. In addition to knowing each other for over 10 years, the members have been heavily involved in their respective projects like Organic Soul and Formalitees Tie T-shirts.
